Plot Summary: The patriarch (Jeff Daniels) of a family of Brooklyn eccentric affirms to have been once a big novelist, but he has placed in a teaching work. When his wife (Laura Linney) it discovers her writing talent proper, the jealousy divides the family, leaving two adolescent children to forge new relations with his parents. The Linney character begins to date the youngest trainer of tennis of his son. Meanwhile, the Daniels character has affair with the student that his elder son chases.
El patriarca (Jeff Daniels) de una familia de Brooklyn excéntrica afirma haber sido una vez un grande novelista, pero él ha colocado en un trabajo docente. Cuando su esposa (Laura Linney) descubre un talento de escritura de ella propio, los celos dividen la familia, abandonando a dos hijos adolescentes para forjar nuevas relaciones con sus padres.
