The young, handsome, but somewhat wild Eugene Morgan wants to marry Isabel Amberson, daughter of a wealthy upper-class family, but she's home rather dull and steady Wilbur MINAF. His only son, George, grows up a spoiled brat. Years later, Eugene comes back, now a mature widow and a car manufacturer with success. After Wilbur dies, Eugene asks Elizabeth once again to marry him, and she is receptive. But George annoyed by the attentions paid to his mother, and he and his aunt Fanny Whack manage to sabotage the romance. A series of disasters to befall the Ambersons and George, and gets his come-uppance in the end.
