While attending Washington and Lee, Lily won the John Graham Award in Fine Arts, given annually to the student that has contributed the most to theater, studio art, music, and art history. This diversity of contribution has marked Lily's professional career as well. With stage credits that include lead roles in such productions as "A New War" at the 68 Cent Crew Theatre, "Crumble: Lay Me Down Justin Timberlake" at the Los Angeles Theater Center, and "Bleed Rail" at the Boston Court (for which she earned both Ovation and LA Weekly award nominations), Lily has truly made her mark on the Los Angeles theatre scene. Perhaps nowhere has this young actress's versatility been more amply (and hilariously) demonstrated than in "All About Walken", in which she has played the Oscar-winning actor Christopher Walken before sold-out audiences for more than two years. This spring, Lily will be appearing in the Bootleg Theater production of "Doomsday Kiss", a collection of short plays about the end of the world. Growing up most influenced by the work of Lucille Ball, Lily Tomlin and Tracey Ullman, it was an understandable thrill for Lily to be cast opposite one of her heroes in the Showtime series "State of the Union" (2008)" and an even bigger thrill to be asked back for another episode in the show's second season. Lily's additional television comedy credits include episodes of the Oxygen series "Campus Ladies" (2006)", "Root of All Evil" (2008)" on Comedy Central, and the Disney Channel's "Sonny with a Chance" (2009)". Lily was able to show her dramatic range as "Casey" the best friend to lead actress Nikki Blonsky's character in the Lifetime movie "Queen Sized (2008) (TV)"(also starring Annie Potts). This spring, Lily guest-stars on John Wells' new NBC police drama "Southland" (2009)". Later this year, Lily will be seen on the big-screen in two recently completed feature films. In How I Got Lost (2009), an independent drama starring Aaron Stanford and Rosemarie DeWitt, Lily plays the tough-as-nails proprietor of a rural gas station. In the college comedy "Tenure (2009)" starring Luke Wilson and Gretchen Mol, Lily plays a razor-sharp college student. A painter, a singer, a dancer, a pianist, a photographer and an improvisational comedian, Holleman approaches life the same way she approaches her career: Creatively. hide |
